These girls are from the Super S series. All but one were purchased in a little teeny model shop in the back of a shopping mall in Toronto's Chinatown.

Henshin Sailor Moon

Henshin Chibi Moon

"Henshin" is Japanese for "transform," and it's a familiar term for those of us addicted to sentai shows like Dairanger. It's clear Bandai had in mind transforming dolls before the Quick Change series from Sailor Stars.

I thought I was doing pretty well on collecting these, until I learned that there are actually two series, the sailor scouts, and the super sailor scouts. GRRRRRRR.....

From the wonderful YES shop in Vancouver. According to what I can gather from the Japanese toy commercials I've seen, you can buy a special Sailor Moon wand that you can use as a "remote control" to make these dolls talk. Too cool!

As I was buying this doll, the lady at the counter asked me, "You don't have Sailor Moon, do you?" I told her, no, and she smiled, knowingly, as if to say, "NO ONE has talking Sailor Moon, Haha!"
