Canadian Dolls
Dolls from Irwin Toys
These dolls were manufactured by Irwin. As you'll see, they greatly
resemble the Bandai dolls that were available in the US, but with a few
odd variations (for instance, these dolls don't have real earrings, the
costumes are a bit different, and they say "Eh?" a lot).
First Season
- Sailor Moon
- Sailor Mars
- Sailor Mercury
- Here's an example of a really weird variation between the Canadian
Irwin dolls and the American Bandai dolls: this Irwin Sailor Mercury has
all black hair. As you'll recall, the American Bandai doll had black hair
with blue patches.
- Sailor Jupiter
- Sailor Venus
Third Season
- Tuxedo Mask with Extra Outfit
- It's that hunkster, Tuxedo Mask! This is the first Tux doll that's
been available in North America.
- Rini with Extra Outfit
- Finally, an Irwin Rini, and she's just as ugly as everybody else.
- Extra Outfit series Dolls
- Here's the rest of the "extra outfit" series dolls. Note that Darien
is still wearing his mask.
- Mercury with Light-Up Tiara
- This series is the third version of just the inner senshi to be
produced by Irwin. They're nearly identical to the second season version,
except you can push a button to light up their tiaras.
- Chibi Moon with Rotating Stand
- The little 6" dolls now come with rotating stands. This series too
includes Chibi Moon and Tux as well as the 5 inner senshi.
- Princess Serenity
- Not quite as spectacular as the Italian version, still, I'm not
complaining.
- Prince Darien
- Sigh.....
- Prince Diamond
- Oooo, evil, evil, evil.
- Emerald
- Evil, and green hair! What else could I want!
- Rubeus
- OK, where's Katse and Birdy?
- Wicked Lady
- I thought she was called "The Dark Lady. Oh well, she's my fave.
- Irwin Sailor Pluto
- I'm sooooo glad that the Canadians finally got around to making my
faves, so here's the first of what I hope will be many more Outer Senshi.
- Irwin Queen Beryl
- Yes, yes, it's going to be a very EVIL Xmas this year, if Queen
Beryl has anything to do with it. Thanks a bunch to Tyler for the last
two dolls. Hi, Tyler!
Fourth Season
6" Scale dolls
- Super Sailor Moon
- Kudos to Irwin Toys of Canada--these may not be the most
aesthetically pleasing Sailor Moon dolls in the world, but they've more
than made up for it by putting out oodles and oodles of new costumes and
obscure characters. F'rinstance, here's Moon in her Super Sailor Moon
duds.
- Sailor Pluto
- Pluto 'n her trusty glave. It's nice to see some North American outer
senshi dolls.
- Sailor Neptune
- This is the first set that soul sisters Neptune and Uranus have
appeared in. There's also supposed to be 12" versions of these dolls, but
I have yet to find 'em.
- Sailor Uranus
- I know Uranus is supposed to be kinda androgynous-looking, and I guess
you could maybe take this doll for one of Herman's Hermits.
- Prof. Tomoe
- I've saved the very best for last. Talk about poufy hair! Poor ol'
Tomoe looks like Patty Duke!
Plushies!
- Tuxedo Mask and
Sailor Moon plusihes
- So cute, who could resist? These are from the unstoppable Irwin Toys
of Canada, so you prolly won't be able to find them at Target. Try some
of the net.dealers who get Canadian stuff.
- Sailor Mercury and
Sailor Mars plushies
- Sailor Jupiter and Sailor
Venus plushies
- Sailor Chibi Moon and
Sailor Pluto plushies
- Sailor Neptune and Sailor
Uranus plushies
- Musical Luna
- Talk about cute, who could resist this Luna kitty from Irwin?
- Plush Artemis
- Awwwww! Shows you those Canadians can get just as cute as the
Japanese.
Dressable Figures
- Sailor Moon dressable
figures
- These are Irwin's version of the Pachi Pachi figures, and they're darned cute.
