Stop the presses!

The following images were sent to me by Brad , an anime fan who noticed I was lacking pictures of some real cool anime figures. So we learn an Important Lesson: if you're annoyed because I don't have an image up of your fave rave anime doll, then durnit, just send me a danged image!

Sega/Tect Rei
Yet another Rei doll!?!? This doll was a joint effort of Sega and Tect, and, to make it even more confusing, is on a Takara body (I believe they used the Jenny 17 doll for Rei and Asuka, and the Jenny 18 for Misato). Confused? As far as I know, this is the first series of EVA dolls.
Sega/Tect Asuka
Awwww, isn't Asuka cute in her little school uniform? Now, if only she had a Shinji doll to yell at!
Sega/Tect Misato
I already have an image of Misato up, but since this is (as far as I know) the only Misato doll that's been produced, why not? She's great--all she needs is a beer!
Medicom Captain Harlock
Regardless of what you may have heard in Toy Fare magazine, Harlock is not the captain of the Yamato. He does make a very fine Medicom figure, however. Here's what he looks like in box. However, Harlock is so cool, most collectors only manage to keep him in box for a few brief moments, so this is a rare image indeed! Thanks, Brad!!!

Aloha, Comic Con!

Didn't get down to San Diego this year? Well, there's always next year! Meanwhile, sit back, and do some vicarious shopping.

Saki Asamiya
This doll was absolutely irresistable! She's from a live action show called "Sukeban Deka II." This character is a schoolgirl who occasionally dons an armor helmet and (wait for this) foils evil-doers with her yoyo! The doll is one of the Lovely Gals Collection, and the box says Bandai, 1986. BTW, according to Corky "living Japanese pop culture encyclopedia" Visminas, Sukeban Deka literally translates, "a gang of tough girls."
Marmit Rei Ayanami
Tired of getting dolls that are merely "excellent???" This Rei Ayanami is from the Super Excellent Series. For folks who venerate points of articulation, this doll has 'em, and how. Note especially the oddly constructed knee joints. There are at least two other Rei dolls in this series, one wearing a plaid dress, the other dressed in her jammies.
Xian Female Doll
It's Godzilla Girl! According to G-phile Richard Cox, this lovely lady is also known as "Miss Namikawa." "She's from Godzilla Vs. the Cosmic Monster, I think," he adds. The back of the box includes a groovy Godzilla poster.
Godzilla windup
I got this little G tchotchke as a free gift for picking up the latest issue of Figure Oh.
Lina Inverse
This Lina is from the Slayers Next series. She's not super excellent or anything, but I though she was kinda cute.

Annoying magazine photos

So, you're a Japanese hobby magazine, and you've just got some exciting (no, this is a Japanese magazine, so let's make that super exciting) new pix of some great new anime dolls. What do you do, what do you do? Why, scrunch the picture down to miniscule size, and try to hide it in the margins somewhere! But, just for you, I've taken some migraine-inducing images and blowed them up, real good!

Hobby Japan photo
This looks like it was taken at an anime show. It makes me slightly light-headed just looking at it! Can you name all the dolls? This is about the only photo I have with all the Tokimeki dolls. I'm especially intrigued by those three male dolls sitting on the very top of the display.
Licca anime dolls
Reportedly, Licca-chan (yes, that Licca-chan) is soon to be turned into an anime. This pictures from issue #14 of Figure Oh magazine are supposed to be from the Licca anime. They actually look more like the Kotobukiya action figures than Licca dolls.

Pep Boys Raph
Not super-exciting, I'd just been wanting this Raph for the silly Pep Boys t-shirt for some time now. Oddly, under the logo, the shirt says, "Jeff is American fashion." Well, sorry to disappoint you, Takara, but if Jeff was American fashion, we wouldn't all be buying Raph dolls, now would we?

Sailor Moon plushies!

Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon plusihes
So cute, who could resist? These are from the unstoppable Irwin Toys of Canada, so you prolly won't be able to find them at Target. Try some of the net.dealers who get Canadian stuff.
Sailor Mercury and Sailor Mars plushies
Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus plushies
Sailor Chibi Moon and Sailor Pluto plushies
Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus plushies

Various anime stuff

Swan Jun keyring
A really bad image of the Tatsunoko keyring.
