Tsukuda Hobby Full Action Dolls

Kanna
I mistakenly thought this was a male character. Well, was I ever wrong. Turns out, Kanna is just a way big girl! (So sue me--I just buy 'em, I don't play 'em. I'm still trying to figure out Yoshi's world!) Anyway, look at the detailing on this fiery redhead. She comes with hands balled into fists, but she also has an extra set of hands.
Maria
This is the one I've been waiting for. Blond hair over one eye, and a trench coat. Too cool!
Upcoming Tsukuda Hobby dolls
Well, I don't have any pictures, goldurnit, because Masaki wouldn't let me walk out of the store with his catalogs! But, we have great news all around. Looks like Tsukuda is going to do Iris to finish off this series, and then they're going to start over and do new dolls in their fighting uniforms. (I can already hear my wallet moaning "Uncle!") And then sports fans, know what we have in store! None other than Vampire Miyu's big ol' pal Rava (or Larva, if you prefer). He gots blue hair, and a removable mask, so as not to hide those killer bishounen good looks.

Sega Real Model action figures

Sumire
Continuing our Sakura Taisen theme, here's the newest in the Sega action figure series for that game, she of the decolletege, Sumire. And, no, these are not Bandai LM figures. Even though they left out the neato keeno cd's this time, these are still pretty darned swell action figures.
Nuku Nuku
The all-purpose cat girl. Isn't the packaging job on these guys swell? BTW, all of the above were obtained at Seattle's swell-est new anime shop, Majin Do. If you wanna contact Masaki and Kristin and tell 'em to bring you some swell Japanese toys, you can email them at majindo@hitmark.com, or phone them at (206) 547-2098.

Rose of Versailles

Italian Lady Oscar doll
This is amazing. Here's a doll from a company called Ceppi Ratti that apparantly dates from the first showing of Rose of Versailles on Italian TV--back in the 70's. Dig those great RoV graphics. Here's the back of the box, showing Lady Oscar and Marie Antoinette. There was an Antoinette doll in Japan--I wonder if there was one in Italy as well?
Japanese Lady Oscar doll
These pictures are taken from the Licca Encyclopedia, which I found thanks to my buddy Corky. These are Japanese RoV dolls, and that one Lady Oscar looks nearly identical to the Italian doll, save for a few markings on the box.
Japanese Drama Dolls
Marie Antoinette and Lady Oscar "Drama Dolls." These pictures are also from the Licca Encyclopedia. These dolls appear to be of a bit larger scale than the other dolls, but I can't be sure.

Utena

Utena animation cel
Does this rock, or does this rock? OK, I spent a little bit of money on her. But, hey, this is Utena we're talking about! Wouldn't you love to have had the chance to get a Rose of Versailles cel?

JeNnY, jEnNy, JEnnY

Red Haired Kisara
It came from Totoco! It's Kisara, and it's got weird hair! Can Pam resist the temptation? Not on your life!
Blue Haired Kisara
These dolls were available with this blunt cut, or with super-long hair. And all in this neat Morticia Addams-style dress, with a spooky pattern on the box.

Slam Dunk!

Akira Sendo
No, not that Akira. Slam Dunk was an anime about the trials and tribulations of a basketball team. These sports animes are pretty popular over there, and they are a popular with collectors as well, as the dolls make swell dates for your Jenny dolls.
Kaede Rukawa
These figures are actually less like dolls than somewhat posable models. They're made of soft vinyl, and jointed only at the arms and waist. They come with basketball uniforms (of course!) and school uniforms. The boxes are great.
Hanamichi Sakuragi
One odd fact about these dolls: they come buck nekkid, dressed only in their basketball sneakers! (Well, in reality, they're "wearing" molded flesh-colored bikini undies, but they look pretty darned silly in there).

Ryotsu

Ryotsu Policeman
Do I really need another Ryo? Yep!
Ryotsu Keychain
Wish the macro lens on my digital camera worked worth a darn. This little guy has a great expression, even for a Ryo.

Virtua Fighter

Pai Chan
You say "virtua," I say, "virtual." Anyway, these dolls are marked "Virtua Fighter 2," as in the Video Game. They have Takara Super Action bodies, and they are ready for it. Pai looks like she could whip yer butt with those braids.
Sarah Bryant
Sarah is wearing a very Emma Peel-like costume. Well, I have lots more to say, but my carpal tunnel is acting up, so time to bring this chapter to a close. :-)
