So, what the HELL have I been up to?

I am a person who is easily obsessed. Lately, my obsession other than little hide plush toys (but that's for another day) has been these ultra-wacky HOT TOYS action figures out of Hong Kong. Why are they so great? Well, they just.....are.

Three Kings large figure set

Amazing. These guys are a boxed set of three dolls, evidently based on a HK comic called "Little Rascals." Here's some of the artwork from the box. Kind of reminds me of Tezuka on a bad day. From what I've seen of the series, it took violence to a new level. The Kings are supposed to be hoodlums who've reformed to do good, where evidently the definition of "good" is carving up various bearded villains so you can see their internal anatomy. Here's an image of the dolls in an open box. As you can see, they come with a lot of kewl accessories, like swords and staffs and a parasol. (!?!) OK, here's a reason why I'm hot for Hot Toys--take a look at at the facial expressions of King 1, King 2, and King 3. (OK, I'll admit I don't know the names, but maybe somebody out there can fill me in?)

Monkey Playground 3 Zero

These dolls are from another comic, The Gangs of Monkey Playground. And, yes, this guy has a boom box instead of a head.

Monkey Playground Double Click

These dolls are really well made. Besides extra shoes and hands, Double Click wears a jacket with a real zipper, and his pants actually have real zippers on the legs too. Love his expression.

Monkey Playground Giger

This guy is definitely my fave. Just check out his sweet little face!! His dreads are made out of pipecleaners.
