Excuses, excuses...
So, let's start off with a little explanation about why I haven't been
updating these pages lately. This time I have a REAL excuse! In these
past few months, we sought and found, bought and moved into a new house.
Those who have been through the home-buying experience before will know
whereof I speak, and those who haven't.....well, you'll learn soon enough.
And, yes, that picture above is really truly the view from our third floor
deck.
And so, just as everyone's newborn is the cleverest baby ever, and just
as all people have dogs with the world's most scintillating behavioral
quirks, so our New Acquisition is the best house ever, and
I'm sure over the next few months, I'll be boring everybody silly with
tedious tales about wallpapering the den and trips to IKEA. Meanwhile,
just to prove that Pam Hasn't Lost It Completely, I have dragged out my
very newest boxes, fresh from the post office, for a quick update.
Cardcaptor Sakura
- Li-Kun
- SCREAM! C'mon, didn't you scream too when you finally saw this doll
of Li? It's totally cute too, with his little power-up suit. Have you
seen the new "Cardcaptors" version on the WB? Unfortunately, they make Li
out to be more of a central character, the better to attract a
Pokemon-viewing demographic, I suppose. Still, I think he makes a great
semi-antagonist for Sakura.
- Sakura
- While I was busy negotiating mortgage payments, they released a whole
new batch of these little Sakura dolls and outfits over in Japan. I can't
say that I recognize this one offhand, it kind of reminds me of a nurse
outfit. What was Tomoyo thinking? I also have another quite cute one of
Sakura with little wings, from Rudi, that is probably sitting in a box in
my basement somewhere, along with my winter shoes!
Neo Licca
-
Clubcats
- OK, who's been watching too many Austin Powers tapes? These Neo Licca
dolls are a scream. (Does it occur to you I've been screaming a lot this
month? Ah, well....) Check out that hair. BTW, not sure why
"Clubcats" is plural, perhaps Licca has a congenital conjoined twin?
-
Spy Girl
- Licca-chan as Emma Peel. Did you think in your entire life you would
ever hear me utter that phrase?
Sailor Moon
Minis!!!
Aren't they great? These little Dream Pocket-sized dolls come with a
little bitty school outfit.
-
Sailor Moon
- Sailor Mercury
- Sailor Mars
U-S-A! U-S-A!
Been to Toys R Us lately? Irwin Toys has actually pulled off a
near-miracle of Moon-dom. They've brought Moon dolls back to US
toy shelves, and the aforesaid dolls are actually not
ugly! They've supposedly made 6 in the new line, including Tux, but
these are the only 3 I've found so far.
- Sailor Mars
- Sailor Mercury
- Sailor Venus
Little Witches Do-Re-Mi
- Wand
- Hobby Link Japan just got in a bunch of new DoReMi stuff. I haven't
seen a single episode of the show, but I just can't resist all the
minis. This is actually NOT a mini, it's a role-playing toy.
- Phone
- Another role-playing toy, this one a kid-sized cordless phone.
- Whatever
- I have no clue what this one is. Scary. Let's move on to the next.
- Big-Ass Playset
- SCREAM! Isn't this incredible! Don't you love minis? And if you
don't, why the heck are you visiting this page? This is a big-ass playset
for the liddle kiddle-style DoReMi dolls. They have lots of other little
toys for the little dolls now.
- Baby
- SCREAM again! This is the new character. According to synopses on
the net I've read, the gals this season somehow end up caring for a
baby. And you know what babies mean?
- Baby Carriage
- That's right, babies mean accessories. Please buy me the baby
carriage, mom!
- Flower Cart
- This little mini-playset seems to include a flower cart. I'm sure
this figures somehow in the show, and I'm sure as soon as I log off, about
6 people are going to email me about exactly how. :-)
- Tea Party
- I'm just calling this the tea party set because I'm too lazy to try to
translate the box right now. But, it's another very cute
mini-playset. As soon as I get the wallpaper ripped out of my den
(See? I warned you!) I'm gonna set up some of these puppies. One thing
about collecting as a grownup, you're evil little sister can no longer
come along and lose all the little pieces. Ha!
Well, that's it for now. Really, I have piles more stuff to paste up
here, but it's all downstairs hidden behind Gus's Millennium Falcon
box. In the meantime, it's time to say "Aloha" from Casa Boba!
