Macross
- Lynn Minmay doll by Yellow
Submarine
- Here she is, probably the scariest character in all of anime. Why
Minmay? Well, the 15th Anniversary action figures kind of sucked, and
you'll have to admit, Yellow Sub does a good job with these dolls
(expcept, as my husband asked, "Did she really have blue hair in
the show?"). Accessories include scary flesh-colored gloves, scary
flesh-colored boots, and some kind of boa-thing. (Not sure about that
last, but I'm too scared to open the box to find out.)
- Minmay in Chinese Dress
- This is Yellow Submarine's second Minmay doll. I cringe before
getting another Minmay anything, but just couldn't resist this
doll's elaborate hairdo.
Robotech
The American series "Robotech" was actually a conglomeration of two or
three different anime series which in reality had nothing to do with each
other. Regardless, still one of my favorite US-style anime. Matchbox did
a series of action figures for the show (I have some in a closet
somewhere), and of course a series of robots. They also did a very nice
series of dolls, pictured here.
- Rick Hunter
- He's even got his helmet. This guy would make a great date for Barbie
(sorry, Minmei!).
- Lynn Minmei
- The most annoying character in anime!
- Lisa Hayes
- The other side of that ol' eternal triangle. Why would Rick fall for
a stupid idol singer when he had Lisa pining for him?
- Dana Sterling
- The first human/Zentradi mix! Plus, if you move her arm, her head
turns around to look at you! (This was a very weird action feature
Matchbox added to the dolls for some reason.)
