Various Newer Liccas
- Rough Trade Street Licca
- This is one of the more amusing "Street" Licca dolls. Notice that she
comes complete with a They
Might Be Giants CD. Reminds me of my days shuffling after vinyl
albums. Yessir, you young whippersnappers! I was once a record addict.
- Choro Q Licca
- A very grownup version of Licca-chan, she even comes with a cute
littlerace car.
Neo Licca
- Loco Neo Licca
- Temptation Island Licca-chan! Gawd, how I love this series.
- Clubcats Neo Licca
- OK, who's been watching too many Austin Powers tapes? These Neo Licca
dolls are a scream. (Does it occur to you I've been screaming a lot this
month? Ah, well....) Check out that hair. BTW, not sure why
"Clubcats" is plural, perhaps Licca has a congenital conjoined twin?
-
Spy Girl Neo Licca
- Licca-chan as Emma Peel. Did you think in your entire life you would
ever hear me utter that phrase?
Color Change Hair
It's time to change, as the Brady kids told us. Licca-chan and her
friends and relatives are celebrating by adopting all sorts of weird and
strange hair colors. I guess the deal is you put the hair under water
to produce even stranger color effects. Trippy!
All of these items were purchased from R & D
Collectibles.
- Color Change Hair Izumi
- The first lot of color change dolls: Licca and her friend Izumi take
a chapter from the old Color Magic Barbie dolls, with hair that changes
color when you use the included scary-looking hairbrush. In Licca's case
from brownish to bright red.
- Color Change Hair Licca
- Izumi transforms from dark green to bright green.
- Izumi
- Color change, take two. Licca's pal Izumi actually comes off as
conservative in this lot, spotting fire engine red hair and a pink dress
that almost matches it.
- Kira
- Kira, where did you get that green hair? If she were wearing a bikini
instead of a blue party dress, and carried a whip instead of a hairbrush,
she'd look like one of the Amazoness Quartet.
- Aki
- Orange hair and a green dress--I used to live in an apartment that was
decorated just like Aki-chan.
- Licca-chan
- Licca-chan herself sports stylish lavender hair with a lavender dress.
- Miki
- Maki
- Even Licca-chan's little twin brother and sister are in on the groovy
hair color feelings.
- Color Hair Licca
Postcard
- Isn't this cool? I put my Licca-chan dolls by the heating vents to
change their hair color.
Older Licca dolls
- Licca
- I donŐt usually collect Licca, but I just couldn't resist the cute little schoolgirl outfit.
-
Nurse-chan
- Now we get to one of my favorites. Nurse-chan is an older doll,
another friend of Licca-chan. Here's a close-up of herface. I especially like the
packaging on this one, with Nurse-chan bravely chasing away those nasty germs. The back of the box
shows a great doctor's office
playset, so Nurse-chan can conduct scientific experiments on your
Licca dolls!
- Licca-chan Keychain
- Isn't this cute? I think These little keychains were made after
Takara saw how much Barbie collectors love those little Hallmark
ornaments.
Super Doll Licca-chan
- Super Doll Knight Licca
- These next three dolls are from a new anime based on the adventures of
Licca-chan. From what I understand, a little girl named Licca actually
transforms into a Licca doll. And, instead of gathering dust on some
collectors shelf, she goes out and has adventures!
- Super Doll Knight Izumi
- These are a great example of the old "Is it a doll/Is it an action
figure?" boundary cases. They have molded hair, but real cloth outfits.
They are super-jointed, and come carded.
- Super Doll Knight Isamu
- I've heard the jointing on these dolls is just incredible.
Unfortunately, the bubble has been attached to the card with lots and lots
of scotch tape, and I don't feel like cutting it open tonight.
- Doll Knight Licca
- Remember Super Doll Knight
Licca? This is the other set of three dolls from the new anime about
Takara's favorite little fashion doll.
- Doll Knight Isamu
- Infinite recursion time: these are actually action figures based on a
cartoon based on a fashion doll. I wonder if some evil person will take
it one step further, and write an anime based on these action figures
coming to life? And would toys for that show be dolls???
- Doll Knight Izumi
- OK, OK, I know I promised to cart these puppies out and play with them
when I got the last set, and that's been months ago now. What if I take
out my wind-up Pikachu and play with him instead?
- Walking Licca-chan
- This is a strange one indeed, and Levin (at Anime Palace in Ohio)
didn't really have a good explanation. This uses an action figure-sized
Licca-chan body similar to the toys from the anime Super Doll Licca-chan,
and the box artwork implies a connection too, but walking around with a
strange piece of furniture doesn't seem to be based on any situation from
the show. Me, I had to pick it up just because I'm a sucker for dolls
with strange action features.
- Super Doll Licca-chan
miniature
- CUUUUTE! This is a little mini-figure from the anime Super Doll
Licca-chan that Corky sent me. Isn't she great?
