Who is the Bobagirl???

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Dolls

Marmit

There was also an Asuka doll and a couple other Rei dolls in this series. (But--need I add?--NO GENDOU.)

Rei Ayanami
Tired of getting dolls that are merely "excellent???" This Rei Ayanami is from the Super Excellent Series. For folks who venerate points of articulation, this doll has 'em, and how. Note especially the oddly constructed knee joints. There are at least two other Rei dolls in this series, one wearing a plaid dress, the other dressed in her jammies.
Rei Ayanami in Plug Suit
Doll by Marmit; she even comes with a little Penpen!
Rei Ayanami in school uniform
Yet another Rei doll, this one features an extra outfit.
Rei Ayanami in alternate school uniform
It's Rei with toast! This is Rei as she appeared in the only segment of the last episode of EVA that made any sense.

Sega/Tect

There were three EVA dolls by Tect issued in 1997: Rei (of course!), Asuka and Misato.

Misato
This doll is by Tect. All she lacks is a beer.
EVA Tect dolls
This just shows that the Tect Misato, with the Jenny 18 body, is indeed taller than the Rei or Asuka dolls from the same series. Supposedly, Tect didn't do too well with these dolls, which is why they let other folks like Marmit take up the license. It's surprising considering what a cash cow for merchandising that series has become.

The following images were sent to me by Brad , an anime fan who noticed I was lacking pictures of some real cool anime figures. So we learn an Important Lesson: if you're annoyed because I don't have an image up of your fave rave anime doll, then durnit, just send me a danged image!

Sega/Tect Rei
Yet another Rei doll!?!? This doll was a joint effort of Sega and Tect, and, to make it even more confusing, is on a Takara body (I believe they used the Jenny 17 doll for Rei and Asuka, and the Jenny 18 for Misato). Confused? As far as I know, this is the first series of EVA dolls.
Sega/Tect Asuka
Awwww, isn't Asuka cute in her little school uniform? Now, if only she had a Shinji doll to yell at!
Sega/Tect Misato
I already have an image of Misato up, but since this is (as far as I know) the only Misato doll that's been produced, why not? She's great--all she needs is a beer!

Action Figures

Active Styling by Kotobukiya

These figures are smaller scale than the Marmit or Takara dolls. It's a matter of taste whether you call them dolls or action figures. They are a little smaller than the old Mego's, but are highly jointed. I've also seen a disturbing "happy face" Rei in this series.

Active Styling Rei
Wish they'd make a Shinji in this series! Or Gendou!
Active Styling Asuka
From the same series as Rei I bought last week. You know what they say about trying to eat just one potato chip....

Sega Real Model Action Figures

Sachiel action figure
Sega produced a whole passel of carded EVA action figures. I thought Sachiel was one of the scariest-looking angels.

A scan from the back of the card showing some of the other EVA figures in this series. Note that only figures 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 9 were from Evangelion. Figures 5, 6 and 8 were from Virtual On.
EVA real models 11 - 13
A scan from the back of the card showing some of the other scary EVA figures in this series. Note that there were also a couple of special figures not pictured on the card. I've seen at least one gold EVA figure.

Other Stuff

Shinji (plug suit) and EVA UFO catchers
Aww! A boy and his EVA. I believe this is from the first set of EVA UFO's. If you look real close, the tag shows Rei and Asuka in plug suits, plue Misato and Ritsuko.
EVA UFO catchers
I can't complain, since this seems to be the only way I'll ever get a Shinji doll, but what the heck? Why is Shinji in his gym suit, instead of a plug suit or even school uniform? And why is Misato wearing a lab coat? Corky to the rescue again: That's no Misato--that's Shinji's mom (and here I though they'd kluuged up Misato and Ritsuko). But this still doesn't answer my burning questions: why icky pony-tail guy Kaji and no Misato? And WHERE THE HELL IS GENDOU? I want my evil characters.
EVA SD keychain set
A set of SD keychains, featuring the usual characters. Why no Gendou? Maybe because you wouldn't trust your keys with him?
Eva plush SD keychain set
Just couldn't resist the little SD EVAs and Angels. But I really lost it when I saw the little SD Adam. Complete with cute little SD bloodstain.
