Who is the Bobagirl???

Jenny / Totoco Dolls
Totoco
Some eensy-weensy pictures of the Totoco shop, a veritable Mecca for Jenny fans. A word of explanation: Totoco is a shop located on a postage stamp-sized lot in Japan which specializes in taunting adult collectors with maddeningly limited editions of Jenny and her various buddies. On the upper right, a couple of goofy-haired Kisara dolls are visible. To the left, so many Jenny dolls you could scream! These pictures are from Issue 11 of Figure King magazine.
Totoco Pigtails Kisara
Despite the red JeNnY box, this is indeed a special Kisara from 1996. Here is a look at the doll out of the box, and a close-up of her face. Thanks to the gang at Biscuit's Club for help in ID-ing this doll!!!
"Bondage" Jenny
I'm not quite sure what Totoco is actually calling this doll, if anything. But, a great leather looking outfit (with a real working zipper!) is a complete non-sequiteur to this doll's typically sweet expression.
Lingere Jenny
Jenny steps out in the "Jenny 18" body. And, yes, those are real garters holding up her stockings! This doll was a limited edition Totoco special. (For an explanation of what the heck a Jenny 18 body is, see above.)
Lingere Jenny with pink hair
From the sublime to the ridiculous: and this is what Princess Leia might look like if they'd shot Star Wars in Japan, as an S&M movie, while the crew smoked crack.
Blue-haired Ellie
"I'm feeling punkish today."
Green-haired Ellie
More hair colors than Oz on Buffy. Both of these dolls are boxed.
Pink-haired Ellie
This doll comes in a baggie. Ellie must be the Jenny friend who's aspiring to star in an anime. How else can you explain the constant hair-color changes?
Dreadlocks Ellie, 1st ed
Is this true? Can there be two rasta Ellie dolls? I think the explanation is that the Totoco shop loves to make a jillion variations of it's special dolls (witness the many permutations of Chinese Lina). Here's a side by side comparison of the two dreadlocks Ellies in my collection. Note that the one on the left is dressed in khaki, she is wearing her boots, her hair is put up, and there is no name on the box. The doll on the right is dressed in a Juliana-like pink miniskirt, she is not wearing her boots, her hair is down, and the box says "Ellie." I believe the first edition doll is the one that lacks the name "Ellie" on the box.
Dreadlocks Ellie, 2nd ed
Talk about bad hair day! This Ellie doll is the appropriate counterpart to the original Tom.
Red Haired Kisara
It came from Totoco! It's Kisara, and it's got weird hair! Can Pam resist the temptation? Not on your life!
Blue Haired Kisara
These dolls were available with this blunt cut, or with super-long hair. And all in this neat Morticia Addams-style dress, with a spooky pattern on the box.
Totoco Kisara with long blue hair
In a shameless bit of pandering to Kisara fans world wide, the Totoco shop created a series of weird-haired Kisara dolls this year. The other set sports a Lulu-like bob hairstyle, but these long-haired dolls are pure Morticia Addams.
Totoco Kisara with long red hair
The worst decision for folks like me (Kisara fetishists with a yen for weird haired dolls) is: which Kisara to choose? Being the woman with no will power, it's no choice for me, I gotta have all of 'em!
Totoco Kisara with long black hair
Oh, Kisara, how you tempt me with those darned side-glancing eyes!
Totoco Kisara with short black hair
Well, as you know, the Totoco shop has caught on to collectors' fascination with this side-glancing Jenny friend, so they've been issuing Kisara variations up the yin-yang. Along with the red- and blue-haired dolls, there are two variations of this black-haired Kisara, with long and short hair. I think this one, with a bob actually looks more like Lie than Kisara. (Course, it's six of one, half dozen of the other, since it's kind of arbitrary on Takara's part who they call Lie and who they call Kisara.)
Curly-haired Totoco Kisara
Another in Totoco's "Let's see just how many Kisara dolls those fools will buy before they scream!" series. I guess the answer is, "Lots." This is kind of a California beach-girl incarnation of our fave side-glancing Jenny friend. Note from a peek inside the box that she come with just about everything a girl needs: designer underwear, and a set of black stiletto heels.
Chinese Lina
My spouse nearly spilled his Pepsi when I showed him this doll. "It's Japanese Princess Leia!" Well, not really.
Pep Boys Raph
Not super-exciting, I'd just been wanting this Raph for the silly Pep Boys t-shirt for some time now. Oddly, under the logo, the shirt says, "Jeff is American fashion." Well, sorry to disappoint you, Takara, but if Jeff was American fashion, we wouldn't all be buying Raph dolls, now would we?
Totoco red-haired Raph
Totoco's run of weird-haired friend dolls continues with bunch o' Raphs. There are actually four different dolls in the set (that I know of anyway): red and blue-haired, both in long and short versions. This is (obviously) the long-haired, Kato Kalein-inspired version of redhead Raph. Here's a picture of the doll boxed doll. You can see the boxes are similar to those used for the red- and blue-haired Kisara dolls.
Totoco blue-haired Raph
This is long, blue-haired Raph. BTW, Raph acutally used the same head mold as Boyfriend Tom, which means these weird-haired dolls could also be considered part of my Tom collection. At least, that's how I justified getting several of them. Here's what the doll looks like in box.
Chinese Tom
Our story so far: When he first showed up in Jenny-land, Tom was a dreadlocked punk off to make trouble for Jenny's true-blue Jeff. His next incarnation was as a clean-cut blond surfer type in Jenny's barbershop quartet o' boyfriends. (Are you confused yet?) Well, Tom is back, and this time, he's got waist-length black hair and comfy black Chinese jammies.
Tom in khaki
But wait, there's more: Tom is going on safari, and he's wearing his dad's jacket! (No, I don't know what's up with the sleves.) This is Tom as you've never seen him before, with long, long honey-blond hair. Yummy! Watch out, Raph. (Oh, and be sure to check out Darla's page, Tom Revealed, for yet more pix and fax about our fave-rave, Tom.)
